FTM by MagicBroJohnson FTM by MagicBroJohnson
Yeah. This is me.
My name is Broderick(Or Bro or Brody whatever you feel like)
This has been a big secret for a lot of people and I am tired of hiding the truth from people.
I am FTM and I should not be scared to tell people the honest truth.
I know many people think that is wrong. But it's my life, not yours. If you do not accept it then please leave.
Though I have told many people, one thing is still a big problem for me. People using the wrong pronouns. Yes I know it's hard and yes I know many of you say "But it's awkward for me to change"
But tell me this. How awkward do you think it is for me having people call me a girl? When I am a man.....
It's pretty awkward.
I only ask that you try for my sake because that honestly means a lot to me.
I hate people called a girl because that is not who I am.
I am Broderick Alexander Reece.
I am FTM and proud.

I'm Daniel (I like Danny though) and I understand your pain. Naturally I am very "blessed in the chest" so it's very hard for me to bind and look like what I really am. So, I do understand your pain Brody.

I completely identify with you and I can relate. I am also FTM. I recently came out to my friends and family and such and I'm still trying to get people to identify me with male pronouns.

Someone who was born in a female body but identifies as male. Basically a man who was born in the wrong born.

Hmmmm to be honest I don't really know. There are plenty of controversies as to the "cause", or if there even is one. I'm not an expert in the subject (and never really thought as to WHY it happened), so I can't really help... Sorry ^^'

The main thing I love about being a FTM is about being myself and letting no one alter me. I've endured some people having an issue with it, but on my life have met more people that accept me for who I am. Let no one tell you who you should be   =^o^=

I have learned that you need to have patience with people. A lot of the time they do not understand the situation so it's best to educate people on it.
It's happening a lot less with me these past few weeks. Since I have been on Testosterone for about 6 months now.

I never heard the name Broderick! It's very original! And don't every be afraid or ashamed of who you are, (though it doesn't sound like you are!) Bullying sucks; I  hate when people act different around me because I'm gay, or prefer the term, "gay" to lesbian. Much support and love from Pittsburgh!

Hi Brody, I'm Melia

MTF and proud.

It's nice when you get referred to by the correct pronouns.
Sometimes you get so used to not getting referred to by how you want, that when finally someone does use the correct one, you're in shock, or get lost in the moment. :D
Then, for me at least, it's do or die, if I have to respond to them, and my voice isn't where I want it to be, and I'm afraid I might give myself away.

I get how you feel...  Not saying whether I'm a female to male or male to female.  I really don't want people knowing physically what kind of gender I am....  Online is one place I am free to be what/who I really feel like.  Online we exist, or can exist without any biases except our personality.

Anyhow, here is a personal question.  Have you or do you get told you aren't what you truly are in soul?  Also does you family except it?  I know mine doesn't for me which makes things hard.

Anyhow I like the coloring and all the colors used.  It also is a  strong message.

There is not any thing wrong with it. But the fact still stands that a lot of people are very transphobic and I have been beaten up a lot of times for being trans.
No one should be ashamed to be what they are but a lot of time we fear for our safety.

Just because it happens, doesn't mean it's right. This is the exact same thing as beating someone for being black, or beating a woman for being a woman. You don't deserve any of this. You have done nothing wrong.

Great concept and great art. The only thing that bothers me is the colouring of the ace bandage. It's just grey, without shading, while everything else is coloured in a paintery style. Apart from that, I love this picture! :)

The reasoning for that actually is because I lost the finished file so I didn't get a chance to finish it so I posted what I had haha. I would have shaded it if I still had the file.

Not, say, people on the street, right?

Yes and no.
It's people I know in person usually but it is also people on the streets.
I try my best to pass at male and it happens a lot but I accept that people don't know for sure so they assume.
But it's really bothersome when people I know at school or close to me continue to say female pronouns.

Understandable if they know you and know you'd rather be called by the male pronouns.

But you got to give the general public some slack.

Not just because they don't know, but because they might eventually get too paranoid to try and even talk to anyone they suspect 'might' be a transsexual, for fear of offending them, or even getting backlash (being called ignorant, etc).

Best thing to do I would suggest is just to correct people when they're wrong and just understand that not everyone's going to know what you're trying to present yourself as.

If somone introduces themself to me as male or female or netural or fluid thats how I'll see them. Or even if I meet them as one gender and it changes I will make the adjustment. I'm not trans but I have a prefered name, but people refuse to use it. Even if its how I introduce myself. I find that frustrating so I dont want to be the cause of a similar feeling to another person. So way to go for sharing this man.

I wanna just..... pat you on the back and give you big hugs for being brave enough to come out and say this, first of all. I realize how scary of an announcement this may be, and here you are. I think you'd be great inspiration for someone out there who's afraid to come out themselves, but want to.

And well, my opinion of you hasn't changed at all, really. I have always thought that you're a pretty amazing person and an amazing artist! I don't see being transgender is wrong, or whatever the general negative stigma of it may be. I'd treat you just the same as I have before I knew, you know? Because you're a person and deserve as much respect as anyone else.

As far as using male pronouns go, of course I'd respect your wishes to do so! I hope others at least make an effort to, as well.

I just thought I'd comment, seeing this post * v * )//////
